As you prepare to close out for the holiday break, we encourage you to participate in the fourth Annual College Awareness Day on January 11, 2019. College Awareness Day is an opportunity to support your 9th and 10th graders with early college awareness and remind them that higher education is attainable. We know that you are doing postsecondary planning activities year-round and we hope that you will include College Awareness Day as part of your existing programming efforts. Examples of early college awareness activities include: inviting alumni to speak about college, encouraging seniors to share their college application experience with other grades, and having staff wear college t-shirts. The Dream-U Curriculum also provides lessons and guidance on how to start the conversation early with all students, specifically English Language Learners and undocumented students. As the year comes to a close, we would also like to thank you for your hard work and commitment to supporting our students with their postsecondary dreams. We wish you a wonderful holiday break and look forward to continue working with you in the new year!
