Greetings! Although many of you are on summer break, our team is sending you timely updates via this email listserv to keep you informed about changes and current events happening in the postsecondary planning landscape. Please note there will be no required action items on your end. In this email, we are providing you with updates on the Future Ready Summer Series and resources to support students with telling their stories.
Last week, we hosted the third Future Ready Summer Series live webinar for Classes of 2021 and 2022. The session covered how students can have a conversation with the adults they trust in determining a postsecondary plan that works for them, financial aid information and financial planning tips. Students who missed this session can watch the recording and check out the prior sessions as well.
The final summer session of the Future Ready Summer Series will take place on Wednesday 08/29, Students can sign-up for updates. This session will help students articulate their stories and dreams when applying to colleges and career programs. Our special guest will be Eathan Sawyer, a nationally recognized college essay expert, who created the platform The College Essay Guy. Additionally, there are many other resources students can reference for guidance on crafting their story, for example BigFuture Essay articles, City College also has a list of guiding questions, and StoryCorps provides students with lessons and tips for effective interviews. Below you will find more news updates, student and educator resources. We hope you continue to have a restful summer!
