Welcome back to a new school year! We know that this year is undoubtedly unlike any other year and that many of you are still adjusting to hybrid schedules. We would like to start by expressing our gratitude, whether you are in a school, a google classroom, an office or at home; thank you for your service. We could not support the journeys of our students without you!
The reality is that preparing students for their postsecondary success cannot be compromised by a challenging fiscal climate or the pandemic especially for our students of color, first-generation, and low-income students who pursue postsecondary education. Thus, we, the College and Career Planning Team (CCPT), commit to providing you bi-weekly updates, student-level data tools and a College and Career Planning Point to support your school community, no matter where you are working from. In this newsletter, we are providing you with updates on Application Completion resources.
As you gear up for the application completion season, be sure your students take advantage of the CUNY application fee waivers! The waiver codes were posted in the Principal’s Dashboard on InfoHub last week. Seniors should be making and revising a strong match list of postsecondary programs they will apply to, finalizing personal essays, and beginning to submit applications. Encourage your students to watch then Future Ready Recordings and use this guide as they navigate their application process. To inform your planning for the year, check out the new 2020-21 planning calendar and Milestone toolkit. Additionally, refer to the New York State College Application Week toolkit to inform your activities with students throughout the month. Below you will find additional resources to support students on their journeys. We are looking forward to working with you this year!
