  • June 1,8,15,22,24– Attend the Decision Campaign office hours Zoom call on Tuesdays from 9 am -10 am for technical support.
  • June 8-10– Attend the 2021 New York State Association for College Admission  Counseling (NYSACAC)  the virtual conference from June 8 – 10. Annual Conference will be focused around the theme of, “Homecoming: Moving New York Forward.”
  • Fall’ 21– Registration for the 2021 National College Access Network (NCAN) Conference “Rebuilding for Postsecondary Equity: Rising to the Challenge!” is now open. This year’s conference will be virtual and offers plenty of opportunities for shared learning, socializing, and networking. The conference will take place Tuesday, Oct. 5 – Thursday, Oct. 7.
  • Apr. 30Submit a proposals for the 2021 NCAN National Conference – “Rebuilding for Postsecondary Equity: Rising to the Challenge”. The conference will be held virtually on Oct. 5-7. NCAN’s 2020 virtual convening was a successful experience that attracted 1,299 registrants.
  • Apr 30– The UFT President Michael Mulgrew and School Counselors Chapter Leader Rosemarie Thompson shared yesterday: the formation of a new corps of counselors, teachers, and supervisors, paid per session, to provide afterschool and weekend one-on-one support via video chat to any interested student across the city. To apply, please send Form OP-175 (review the third page of the posting for instructions). 
  • May 3Register for Computer Science for All training and support. The DOE is offering per session paid/ CTLE-eligible professional development to principals, assistant principals, and teachers, in addition to administrator planning sessions and free curriculum. Visit cs4all.nyc for more info. 
  • May 5 & every Tuesday– Attend CCPT office hours Zoom call on Tuesdays from 9 am -10 am for Decision Campaign and STARS technical support.
  • May 7- Apply for College Essay Guy 12-hour Course. The College and Career Planning Team has partnered with The College Essay Guy to offer a 4-week course to help you support students through the college essay writing process.  Per session will be available for teachers, counselor and social workers. Dates of the course May 11, 18, 25 and June 1.
  • May 7 & 10- Attend the Strong Match Series on Friday, 5/7 or Monday, 5/10 and sign-up if you haven’t already.
  • May 18Register for Progressive Pathways: Connecting Postsecondary Options to the World of Work session.
  • May 18- Register for Urban Assembly Speaker Series that will focus on all students should know about working after high school.
  • May 20Attend a session to learn about engaging young people through text messaging.
  • Recording– We’ve partnered with OneGoal and SUNY Buffalo to create From FAFSA to Funded: Helping Students Navigate FAFSA Verification presentation. We encourage you to watch and share with your team members who are supporting seniors on their transition journeys.

  • Apr 9 & 12Register for the Spring 2021: Strong Match Series. At least one team member from every high school is encouraged to attend. Please note: If you registered in Feb.-Mar. you are already pre-registered.
